- Thomas Jefferson Memorial Roof and Portico Restoration Wins An Award of Merit for the best Government/Public Building project from Engineering News-Record Mid-Atlantic: We are proud of our DC and PA branches who have worked on the project for 5 years and have been involved from the start. We performed the initial assessments, collaborated on the restoration design from concept to CDs, and were heavily involved throughout construction. Every member of the PA/DC staff and several folks from NY had a hand in this so it’s truly a company-wide effort. It was also a stellar example of a collaborative project between BCA, the architect, the structural engineer, the owner, and the construction team.
- The Newark Museum of Art just released a Virtual Tour of the Ballantine House. BCA has continuously and vigourously worked alongside the Newark Museum to completely restore the Ballantine House and return it to its original condition. Take the Tour Here!
- D.C. Court of Appeals at 430 E Street Roof Replacement Project Wins North American Copper in Architecture (NACIA) Award-- "After all of the trials and tribulations related to this project, which was a 7-year undertaking and which involved many design itterations, it is particularly rewarding to win an award such as this," Dorothy Kotzer.
- 2022 Lucy Moses Award for two projects: the Farley Postal Lobby and Trinity Church Wall Street-- Two of BCA’s projects, The Farley Postal Lobby and Trinity Church are being honored on April 20th, 2022 by the New York Landmarks Conservancy at the Lucy G. Moses Preservation Awards. BCA played pivotal roles in both projects, providing restoration design and oversight of these iconic New York City buildings.

BCA’s Dorothy Krotzer presented on Bentley Hall and Arlington House at APT-- Director, Dorothy Kozer, presented last October about BCA’s work on Bentley Hall and Arlington House at APT’s “Preservation Beyond Politics” conference. She discussed the conservation of both historic buildings, Specifically, restoring Bentley Hall’s original brick, Bryophyte remediation, and preserving the intricate exterior finishes of Arlington House.

Frank Lloyd Wright Designed-House in West Lafayette Undergoing Renovations
"The National Parks Service recently awarded a $500,000 Save America's Treasures grant to support restoration efforts at Samara, a 1950s-era Frank Lloyd Wright-designed home built in West Lafayette for Dr. John and Catherine Christian."

Getty Foundation announces final round of Keeping It Modern conservation grants

Bruner/Cott & Associates deploy craftsmanship and historical research to restore Harvard Hall
"Building Conservation Associates (BCA) took the lead in an extensive paint analysis of the cupola, cornice, and window frames; cross-sections of each were analyzed at the granular level through microscopy and revealed just under 40 layers of paint accrued over the centuries."
