Ames Hotel

Boston, Massachusetts

The Ames Hotel was designed by the firm of Shepley, Rutan and Coolidge and completed in 1893.  A National Landmark, it is the second largest masonry load bearing wall structure in the world. In addition to consulting services for exterior and interior restoration, BCA performed the hands-on cleaning and conservation of the beautiful mosaic tile vaulted ceiling and marble walls in the lobby.

The Ames Hotel was awarded a Boston Preservation Alliance Award in 2009 for Significant Rehabilitation/Restoration.
